Karnataka 2nd PUC 2025 Result Analysis: Coastal Districts Shine, Yadgir Trails

2nd PUC Exam-1 Result 2025: Karnataka Records 73.45% Pass Rate

2nd PUC Exam Result 2025: Udupi Tops Again, Overall State Pass Percentage at 73.45%

The Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka, has released the much-awaited 2nd PUC Exam Result Statistics for the academic year 2024-25. This year’s results paint a vivid picture of academic performance across the 32 districts of the state, with Udupi once again clinching the top spot.

Top Performers: Coastal Karnataka Leads the Way

Udupi district has secured the highest pass percentage at an impressive 93.90%, followed closely by Dakshina Kannada at 93.57%, and Chikkamagaluru at 85.36%. These coastal and interior Karnataka districts have consistently maintained their dominance in academic performance, underscoring the region's emphasis on quality education and student support systems.

The fourth and fifth positions were taken by Kodagu (83.84%) and Bengaluru South (83.14%) respectively, indicating balanced academic performance across both rural and urban regions.

Middle of the Table: A Mixed Bag

Districts like Mysuru (75.80%), Ballari (73.97%), and Mandya (73.27%) featured in the mid-range of the performance table. While they have performed reasonably well, a noticeable gap remains between them and the top performers.

The overall state average pass percentage stands at 73.45%, a marginal improvement over last year's performance, reflecting the state's continued investment in pre-university education.

Bottom of the Table: Need for Intervention

On the other end of the spectrum, Yadgir has registered the lowest pass percentage at 48.45%, followed by Kolar (55.70%) and Kalaburagi (58.75%). These districts have struggled historically, and the results call for urgent intervention in terms of infrastructure, teaching quality, and student welfare programs.

Urban vs Rural Performance

Interestingly, Bengaluru South has done significantly better (83.14%) than Bengaluru North (79.91%) and Bengaluru Rural (82.93%), emphasizing the educational divide even within the capital region. This could be attributed to differences in resource availability, school density, and socio-economic factors.
